Study Acts A Self-Study Guide for Spiritual Growth

Study Acts:
A Self-Study Guide for Spiritual Growth

Welcome to Study Acts, a developing initiative designed to guide you through the Book of Acts for personal spiritual growth and sanctification. This resource is crafted for men who desire a serious, biblically-grounded journey to deepen their faith. Our guiding theme remains: "I'm not the man I ought to be but I'm better than the man I used to be."

This page serves as a working guide for the study's development and a collaborative space. We invite you to explore these foundational ideas and offer your insights as we prayerfully shape this resource.

I. Core Vision and Purpose

  • Title: Study Acts

  • Theme: "I'm not the man I ought to be but I'm better than the man I used to be." This theme will be woven throughout, emphasizing the ongoing process of spiritual growth and transformation by God's grace.

  • Overarching Goal: To facilitate serious, self-guided biblical study that leads to personal sanctification and spiritual maturity through the Book of Acts.

  • Target Audience: Men who desire to deepen their faith, understand biblical doctrine, and grow in their walk with Christ through dedicated self-study.

  • Proposed Duration: Approximately 28 weekly sessions, plus an introductory session, spanning about half a year.

II. Study Structure & Engagement

The "Study Acts" guide will integrate seamlessly with the existing Acts2020Project website content:

  • Self-Study Focus: This guide is designed primarily for individual study, allowing you to engage with the material at your own pace.

  • Questions on Chapter Pages: At the bottom of each Chapter Overview Page (e.g., Acts 1, Acts 2), you will find specific study questions related to that chapter's content. These questions are designed to prompt reflection and deeper engagement with the narratives and themes.

  • Linked Answer Pages: Suggested answers and further insights for the study questions will be available on dedicated, linked pages. These pages will also be where the study can be further developed and expanded over time.

  • Leveraging Website Content: The study will direct you to relevant sections of the Acts2020Project website, including:

    • Chapter Introductions

    • Passage-specific narratives (Scholar/Pastor Levels 1-3, and potentially deeper Levels 4-5)

    • Chapter SVG Infographics

    • Theme Deep Dive pages (e.g., The Great Commission, The Holy Spirit's Role)

III. Integration with Chapter Resources Page

Each Chapter Resources landing page will feature a summary of the "Study Acts" guide for that chapter. This summary will include:

  • An icon representing the "Study Acts" initiative.

  • Key bullet points highlighting the study's purpose and content for that chapter.

  • A direct link to the detailed "Study Acts" page for that chapter, where the questions and relevant study materials reside.

IV. Development Prioritization

Our initial focus will be on:

  1. Refining Study Objectives: Clearly defining what specific transformation or understanding participants should achieve.

  2. Outlining Session Topics: Creating a high-level outline of how Acts will be covered across 28 sessions, explicitly linking Acts passages to the sanctification theme.

  3. Developing Sample Study Content: Crafting the questions and initial answers for the first few chapters to serve as examples.

  4. Designing the "Study Acts" Icon: Creating a suitable icon for this initiative to be used across the website.

V. Future Phases (Long-Term Vision)

  • Full Content Development: Creating detailed materials for all 28 sessions, including any supplementary videos or media.

  • Community Engagement: Exploring ways for readers to offer their ideas and contribute to the study's development.

  • Promotion Strategy: Developing a comprehensive plan for discovery channels (e.g., YouTube) once example content is ready for wider outreach. But primarily we will depend as always on the Holy Spirit to lead students to us (if that be His will) as well as a growing interest in the Book of Acts which will be develping with the ending of “The Chosen” series as it extends into “The Way of the Chosen” series.

We believe this "Study Acts" initiative will provide a valuable pathway for men to engage deeply with God's Word and experience profound spiritual growth. Your insights and feedback are crucial as we build this resource.
