Acts 2020 Project:
Master Examination Lenses

Project Identity & Authority

  • Project Name: Acts 2020 Project: Examining Evidence of the Way, the Truth and the Life in the Book of Acts.

  • Primary Source: Dr. John MacArthur.

  • Framework: The 7 Lenses of Examination.

  • Purpose Note: This 7-Lens framework is a unique investigative methodology used to analyze the structural and strategic intent of the Book of Acts. All theological commentary and doctrinal verification are grounded strictly in the teaching of Dr. John MacArthur.

The 7 Lenses of Examination

  • Lens 1: God’s Plan and Mandate (The Great Commission)

    • Strategic Purpose: The Strategy: Tracing God’s blueprint for global witness.

    • Investigative Focus: Identifying the Great Commission Strategy and the biblical call to mission. We analyze the geographic rollout from Jerusalem to the ends of the earth and the "infallible proofs" that authorized the mission.

  • Lens 2: The Holy Spirit's Role

    • Strategic Purpose: The Power: Identifying the presence of the Holy Spirit throughout the Book of Acts.

    • Investigative Focus: Documenting the mechanics of empowerment. We recognize the Holy Spirit as the strategic navigator of the mission—guiding timing, personnel placement, and biblical validation.

  • Lens 3: Teaching About Jesus

    • Strategic Purpose: The Message: The core proclamation of His life, death, and resurrection.

    • Investigative Focus: Isolating the core proclamation of the Gospel. This filter examines the biblical record regarding Jesus as both Lord and Christ, centering the message on the Person of Jesus.

  • Lens 4: Prophecy Fulfillment

    • Strategic Purpose: The Foundation: Connecting 1st-century events back to Old Testament roots.

    • Investigative Focus: The "Vertical Link." This demonstrates how events are the biblical fulfillment of Old Testament prophecy, proving the mission was part of God's eternal plan.

  • Lens 5: Acceptance & Opposition

    • Strategic Purpose: The Response: Documenting real-world successes and cultural / religious friction.

    • Investigative Focus: Measuring the impact of the Gospel proclamation on the world. We track conversion growth (Acceptance) and the resulting challenges or persecution (Opposition).

  • Lens 6: The New Testament Bridge

    • Strategic Purpose: The Connectivity: Linking the Acts historical record to the Epistles.

    • Investigative Focus: This "Horizontal Link" treats the New Testament as a cohesive whole, connecting historical events in Acts to the doctrinal instructions found in the Epistles.

  • Lens 7: Final Verdict

    • Strategic Purpose: The Weight of Evidence: A summary of the cumulative proof of "The Way".

    • Investigative Focus: The conclusion of the examination. This evaluates how the 1st-century evidence applies to the modern Church, testing for continuity and alignment with the original biblical patterns.
